Prada Batch Code Format
Codes handled here follow the Prada format: 4+ letters/digits: numeric year digit plus day-of-year, or two digits followed by a year letter and month marker. The decoder checks the structure before it reads a date, so a mistyped code returns an error rather than a wrong answer.

How Prada Batch Codes Work
Prada encodes production dates inside the batch code rather than printing an expiry date on the carton. The Prada format used here is 4+ letters/digits: numeric year digit plus day-of-year, or two digits followed by a year letter and month marker, which is what lets the decoder return a manufacturing date rather than a vague guess.
Two codes on the same product are not a problem. The outer carton and the inner container are frequently produced in different runs, and the later of the two is the one that governs the freshness of what is inside.
Enter the code exactly as printed, letters and digits only, with no barcode digits and no price-label text mixed in. Anything the decoder cannot match is rejected rather than guessed at.
How to Locate Your Prada Code
Prada marks its production runs on the underside or the back panel of most packaging. Look in these places:
The code is most often found in one of these places:
- Fragrance: on the base of the bottle, and frequently repeated on the outer box
- Makeup: on the underside of a compact or the base label of a lipstick
- Packaging: on the base or underside of the container
- Carton: on the bottom panel, or next to the barcode
When you find the code, check that it is the production code and not the retail barcode. The production code is the shorter of the two and is usually labelled LOT, batch or simply printed on its own.
Most Looked-Up Prada Ranges
Common Prada items whose codes people want decoded include:
- Fragrance: Prada Paradoxe, Prada Candy, and Infusion d'Iris
- Fragrance lines: Luna Rossa, Luna Rossa Ocean, and Luna Rossa Carbon
- Fragrance: boxed fragrance duos, travel sprays, and seasonal holiday sets
- Perfume and scents: Prada perfume, Prada fragrance, Prada makeup, and Prada beauty searches
Gift sets are the exception worth watching: the outer box and each item inside can carry different codes, and the oldest one in the set sets the limit for how long to keep it.
Getting the Most From Your Prada Batch Code
Compare the code on the box with the code on the product. A mismatch means the two were packed from different production runs.
Check the bottom of the container before anything else. The batch code is more often there than on the carton, and it is the code that governs the contents.
